Driving India’s Tech Startup Momentum through Innovation-led Entrepreneurship

STPI, since its inception, has been steering the Indian IT industry by facilitating a robust ecosystem for boosting IT/ITES exports from the country. STPI-registered units have reached a mindboggling target of over Rs. 6 lakh crore exports during FY 2021-22. Leveraging its legacy as a policy-enabler, STPI today has embarked on bolstering the tech startup ecosystem in the country by undertaking path-breaking initiatives such as Centres of Entrepreneurship (CoEs) and Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS) to provide a robust collaborative ecosystem to tech startups, innovators & budding entrepreneurs in the country to build technology products and create IPRs. STPI has successfully launched 22 CoEs in emerging technology domains and targets to support 1,900+ startups while enabling them to create 500+ marketable products/services with 100+ IPRs/patents in various emerging technologies like AI, Computer Vision, IoT, Data Analytics, AR & VR, ACES Mobility, FinTech, MedTech, AgriTech, and many more, for building innovative products.

A CoE is a domain-specific specialized incubation facility for start-ups in the area of emerging technologies where the highest-standards and best-practices in terms of infrastructure, technology, leadership, mentoring, training, research & development, funding, networking for the given focus area is made available pan India. STPI CoEs are building innovation driven emerging tech-startups ecosystem in collaborative manner with partners like Govt of India, State Govt, Industry, Academia, Domain & Technology experts etc.

NGIS is a futuristic Incubation Scheme which offers comprehensive support & services to technology start-ups from various STPI incubation facilities pan-India under one common umbrella. NGIS has a dedicated facility for security & vulnerability assessment of products.

High-Speed Datacommunication Services

STPI has been the pioneer as Data Communication Service Provider in India since 1993. STPI started providing last mile connectivity (point-to-point) to customer premises through owned RF/Microwave. STPI was then the first organisation to provide point-to-multipoint Microwave Radio network for Internet services in India.

STPI also holds the Unified license for Category-A Internet Service Provider (ISP) with ALL INDIA as the service area. In fact, STPI is the first commercial Internet service provider of India and the first to offer Digital Private Line through multiple-access radio network. STPI’s National service delivery and management infrastructure includes 60+ independent gateways through NOCs at STPI centres.
